Q. How do I register?
A. Registration may be done online, over the phone or in person at the dance centre. Which ever you prefer is fine with us! Regardless of the way you want to register, you will need to set up an online account. Create a MSDC account here
Q. What do I wear to class?
A. Girls - Leotard, tights, appropriate style dance shoes and long hair secured in a ponytail or bun. No jewelry.
Boys - Comfortable athletic pants and a white T-shirt. No jeans and clean sneakers for street dance.
Q. What is the tuition policy?
A. Tuition for the full season is calculated for the Sept - June season then divided into 10 monthly payments. Costume deposits are due in October. Costume balances are due in November. If your dancers is taking one of our shorter sessions or dance camps, then tuition is a one-time payment due at registration.
Q. What are your tuition rates?
A. The average student takes a 30, 45 or 60 minute class once a week. Class length depends on the student's age and experience level.
1- 30 minute class once a week the tuition is $42 monthly
1- 45 minute class once a week the tuition is $47 monthly
1- 60 minute class once a week the tuition is $52 monthly
There is a discount for each additional class for either the same child or siblings.

Q. What is the average cost of a costume for recreational dancers?
A. Approximately $60 to $75 depending on the age and level of the student.
Q. Am I required to purchase a costume?
A. If you are in a class that is performing in the recital then you are required to purchase a costume for the show.
Q. How long do lessons run for?
A. The fall season runs from September to June including our annual recital production. We also offer summer dance camps and non-recital sessions in the winter, spring and summer that run between 6-12 weeks depending on the calendar.

A. The Center for Performing Arts at Milford High School.

BENEFITS OF DANCE
Q. What are the benefits of dance?
A. Dance exercises ones body and mind at the same time. It teaches coordination, good posture, poise and grace of movement. It is team work in a group class and a great confidence builder as a dancer takes the stage. Dance allows for artistic expression through movement and music. Dance is a skill that will last a lifetime!
Q. What are the benefits of the full 10-month season?
A. The dance season may seem long to some but the length of the season allows time to improve technique, strength, flexibility, perfect new skills and prepare for a routine to perform in the recital. All of these things take time and dedication to see progress.
Q. What are the the benefits of performing in the recital?
A. Dance takes hard work and dedication and dancers should show off what they have learned to their family and friends at the end of the season! As a dancers, regardless of age, there is something very special about being on stage, under the lights and hearing the applause after your performance. The dancers benefit from the team work in preparing their dance and have fun supporting each other before and after they hit the stage. Seeing your little star on stage should be a memory to be cherished! And don't forget... dance is a PERFORMING ART so getting on stage is the where every dancer should be at the end of the season!

Q. How do I register?

Q. What if my dancer has previous dance experience?
A. Please give us a call or send us an email so we can suggest classes appropriate for the age and level of experience. We do not list our upper intermediate or advanced level classes in our open enrollment class list online.
CLASS Q & A
Q. What do I wear to class?

Q. May I watch classes?
A. Yes, you may watch classes, although there may be times that the teacher may keep the blinds closed or tilted especially with the younger dancers if they are distracted by activity outside the classroom.
Q. Do I need to stay in the studio while my dancer is in class?
A. For the younger students in shorter classes, many parents stay in the studio, close by outside or in their car. For older students, most parents drop off and return when their dancer is done for the day.
TUITION Q & A
Q. What is the tuition policy?
A. Tuition is calculated for the season then divided into 10 monthly payments, regardless of the number of classes that month. Costume deposits are due in early October. Costume balances are due in early November. All accounts are set-up for automatic payment on the 20th of the month prior to the classes. For summer dance camps and winter, spring and summer sessions, tuition is a one-time payment due at registration.
Q. How do I pay my tuition?
A. Tuition processed monthly through a card on file, no exceptions. If would like to pay by another method, then you need to come in to the studio to make your payment prior to the auto-pay date.

Q. What if my dancer does not want to continue taking classes?
A. You will need to submit a Withdrawal Form to the front desk prior to the 20th of the month to not incur any further charges and drop your dancers from their class/es. They may be submitted at the front desk in person, through email or snail mail. There are no refunds for unused tuition.
COSTUMES Q & A
Q. What is the average cost of a costume for recreational dancers?
A. Approximately $60 to $75 depending on the age and level of the student. Competitive students, Dance Company and adult students can expect to pay more for costumes.
Q. Am I required to purchase a costume?
A. If you are in a class that is performing in the recital then you are required to purchase a costume for the show.
Q. What other costs can I expect in completing my look for the recital?
A. There is the actual costume cost, the dance shoes that are purchased at the beginning of the season and then the required tights purchased in the spring through the dance studio which range between $7-$15. The competition and adult dancers can may need specialty tights or specific jewelry as well.
RECITAL Q & A
Q. Where is the recital location?
A. The Center for Performing Arts at Milford High School. This is also the location for Dress Rehearsal the few days before the recital.
Q. What is the recital performance fee and what is included?
A. Each account is charged $65 for each student performing in the recital and they recital themed T-shirt, recital program book and professional video of your dances.
Q. Do I need to purchase tickets for the recital?
A. Yes, you will need to purchase tickets for the recital performance. We do reserved seating for each of the shows and tickets usually go on sale a couple weeks prior to the recital.
